Blitzed Bust

When St Olave's in the City of London was bombed by the Germans on 17 April 1941, this bust of physician and botanist Dr Peter Turner (1614) was stolen from the ruins. After 70 years, it is back in St Olave's, thanks to an eagle-eyed curator at the Museum of London who spotted it in an auction listing last year. It has passed through a few honest hands since it was stolen (title link).
