Miss World

Those crabby old feminists are yet again moaning about the Miss World final, which takes place at Earl's Court on Sunday, back in London where it began during the Festival of Britain in 1951 (title link). Miss England 2008 winner Laura Coleman (both photos) rebuffs the crones' moans with the arguments that beauty pageants empower women and that nobody forces them into it. True, but not the whole story. Female beauty is an empowerment in itself, socially an upwardly mobile trait. It's Darwin's Theory of Evolution, not so much the survival of the fittest; more the survival of the most gorgeous. Look at all the fat cats escorted by beautiful women: President Sarkozy, Silvio Berlusconi, Rupert Murdoch and so on and so forth. Feminists are out of touch with Darwin and with human nature.
