Art In The Streets

Bronzino - Venus, Cupid, Folly and Time (1540-45)The Grand Tour is something the English upper crust used to do after graduating. (Nobody expected them to get a job.) They'd visit Europe to see the sights and narrow their horizons. The National Gallery has now brought the Grand Tour to the streets of London. It has hung life-sized prints of 30 of its most famous paintings on exterior walls around central London, complete with imitation ormolu frames and gallery-style plaques. If Banksy can bring art to the man in the street, why not the National Gallery? The replicas will be on display for 12 weeks. Dunno what Muslims will make of Bronzino's Venus, Cupid, Folly and Time (one of the street exhibits). Probably make them fall off their bikes.
