Claude Lorrain in USA
The British Museum has lent the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC 80 of its drawings by France's greatest landscape painter: Claude Lorrain. This is the NGA's first major exhibition of Lorrain's art since 1982, and many of these exhibits have never been seen in the US before. Claude Lorrain - The Painter as Draftsman: Drawings from the British Museum opened in the West Building on 27 May and continues until 12 August 2007.
