Debbie Harry Portrait

I've never thought much of Andy Warhol's art and don't give him much room on my blog, but I must admit his portrait of Blondie singer Debbie Harry (1980) is a cut above his usual dross. Maybe he preferred her to the other beauties he painted and made look dreadful, like Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. The portrait comes up for auction on 29 June at Sotheby's London sale of contemporary art and is expected to fetch up to £5.5 million.
