RA Summer Show
The 243rd Royal Academy of Arts' Summer Exhibition in London opened today, and BBC News has posted a video with interviews of some of the happy unknowns whose work has been accepted for the show (title link). The pictures discussed include King's Cross Station, a print of a dead piranha in fancy dress and a photo of the Queen's hands! My favourite so far is this unwrapped parcel containing a mauve plastic woman wearing high-heeled red shoes. A perfect pressie. Just what the doctor ordered. Will it be mass produced? And will feminists bearing placards protest against it, as they recently did against Hugh Hefner's reopening of the London Playboy Club (CLICK)?
