Kinetic Sculptures

Today the Kingsland Road branch of Flowers Galleries in London opened Tim Lewis: Mechanisms, a retrospective (title link). Shown is Pann, a kinetic sculpture installation thingy made of aluminium and powered by electric motors. It walks in an arc 5 feet by 8 feet. Tim graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1987. Yet again I'm left wondering what the hell they're teaching in British art schools to encourage students to produce tosh like this. Perhaps needless to say, the Arts Council of Great Britain falls all over itself to buy his kinetic rubbish. At least the show is free.
